Salt Lake Famous Films

If you’re a movie buff like me, Salt Lake city is paradise if you know where to look. Want to relive scenes of a classic movie?

Here are a few films and their scene locations.

The Sandlot

The actual sandlot - the famous field where the boys spend most of their time can be found at 1388 Glenrose Drive, SLC. You should be able to spot it behind a few of the house in the neighborhood!

Legally Blonde 2

U.S. Capitol Scenes - there are a ton of scenes that take place outside the “U.S. Capitol” but they’re actually filmed at the Utah State Capitol building!

Dumb & Dumber

Hary & Lloyd’s apartment - several scenes are filmed here like when they come home after losing their jobs and when they see the dead bird sold to the “blind kid”. Smith Apartments, SLC.

High School Musical

Most school scenes - nearly all of the HSM scenes were filmed at East High School in Salt Lake.

Halloween Franchise

Michael Myers’ House - Michael’s house in Halloween 5 is located at 1007 1st avenue, SLC

These are just some of the films shot in Salt Lake and the wider Utah area. Others include Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, Thelma & Louise, and Independence Day.

Kids Ski Free!

Got to talking with one of my co-workers about how the ski season was coming to an end. He wanted to enjoy some time out there with his kids but the main thing holding him back was the cost.

So I asked myself, what mountains let kids ski free? It turns out way more than I thought, so here are a few!

Eagle Point Resort - Kids 12 & Under Ski Free.

Nordic Valley - Kids 12 & Under Ski Free. Just enroll them in the free kids Powder Pass!

Brian Head - Kids 12 & Under Ski Free. Just enroll them in the free kids Powder Pass!

Snowbird - Kids 6 & Under Ski Free.

Sundance - Kids 5 & Under Ski Free.

Park City - Kids 4 & Under Ski Free.

Powder Mountain - Kids 4 & Under Ski Free.

Snowbasin - Kids 4 & Under Ski Free.

Solitude - Kids 4 & Under Ski Free.

Skiing will never be a cheap sport but hopefully this helps you feel better about getting your little ones out on the mountain!
