Happy Tuesday Hive Members!

Well that weather kinda came out of nowhere, thought we were ready to welcome spring even summer here soon.

Excited to dive into this week’s edition, so let’s get to it!

In this week’s Hive:

  • Replacing Sundance

  • New Eats

  • This Week’s Events

Replacing Sundance

With Sundance gone there’s a hole left in Utah film tradition. Not only that, Sundance adds $132 million in GDP and $14 million in tax revenue to the state each year. Rumor is Utah leaders have something in the works.

The Great Salt Lake

Word on the street is that initial plans have begun to start a home grown film festival. The Utah government is ready to commit $3.5 million in funds originally meant for Sundance. Ryan Smith has jumped in saying he will help the effort.

A few predictions estimate a new Utah Film Festival could come together as soon as next year and be a permanent stay by 2027.

Only time will tell but it’s exciting to look forward to it!

New Eats

It’s that time again! Here are some tasty new places to grab a bite.

Rouser

The range on this menu is amazing. Everything from truffle parm fries to roasted octopus, no matter what you’re into there’s something here for you! For the drinkers out there, the cocktails will not disappoint.

Empanada Co.

A more laid back spot, with tasty empanadas. The owner is from Argentina and brings that authenticity to her food. This is a great place for a quick snack or a smaller dinner. the best way to do it is to try 3 or 4 different ones and double down on what you like best!
